I’m not disagreeing with you but I think the way you played Terminus to be a little odd.

Could you please spend the time to read one blog post and comment if your thought of Terminus would change if played in one of the writer’s play styles?

    Here is the post…

I guess I’m not really sure what you mean by a “little odd”. The way Scott played Terminus is pretty standard, i have seen him played that way multiple times in various tournaments identically to that. In fact the blog post you have linked to seems to indicate that he has also played terminus in a similar way in the past. Obviously the style in his two leviathan list is different than the standard but that one is the “odd” one not what Scott played. His current list he has at the bottom of the blog post may have different components but the style and approach is pretty similar (and IMO would have played out similarly on the table to this game).

Can you be a bit more specific on what you mean by “a little odd”? Maybe if you point out what you feel was strange I will have a better idea of how to answer your question.

The reason I found it odd is it seamed like Scott was playing a list designed by someone else that didn’t fit into his playstyle. I posted the blog post because of the writers analysis of the knights & mechanithralls. I thought Scott would like the thoughts on a different approaches to the army.

On a side note, it is ok to grade a caster. That is your analysis. It is not ok to make insulting remarks about a caster in a one sided conversation (with the podcast listener). It insults the listener that identifies with the caster and the listener is not a part of the conversation to defend the caster.

My assessment of Terminus is he is a beat stick super solo that his army is just there to make sure he can continue to advance and/or win the scenario

That was our assessment as well? I am confused…

We praised Terminus for what he does well and said so on the show, we said basically what you said in your “assessment”

If you thought Scott’s joking about Terminus was intended to be derogatory to the listener I think you misunderstood. We were very clear about what terminus does, Scott stated that that play style wasn’t exactly his cup of tea, but that you need to be ready to deal with him and if your a Cryx player you need to at least consider using him.

I don’t mean to be blunt but if you don’t like us grading a caster without your input then this is probably not the show for you. We are going to be rough on casters. We aren’t going to paint them all in a positive light at all times. At some point we are going to be taking someones favorite caster and make a few insulting remarks.

While I disagree with some of your points on Terminus, over all I agree with your general assessment of him. And despite our differing views, this is one of the reasons i love this show so much, because I can hear reasonable (usually) and well-argued cases for all the casters and their abilities that I might not have heard or thought of on my own otherwise. Great report, and keep ‘em coming.

I was wondering how you got 3 brute thralls in your Terminus list with only one mechanithrall unit?

    Am I missing something?

Forget the above post. I miss-read the unit entry.
