Great Report. Been waiting for this one for some time. Both casters actually and at the same time. Double Win.

Harbinger is soooo good.
Stats: shes not so hot, but her focus and Auto hitting makes her sick. Focus gets her high armor and healing. Some Casters/Locks can’t deal with the High armor. Def 14 isn’t so great. On a Hill, 16 and Awe 18, but still situational. Large base makes her really vulnerable, but hey she can play really far back with a huge control area. 17 boxes aint so bad, but can go quickly with Martyrdom. But Martyrdom! Oh man. Her focus and a Wrack get her armor to sick levels where Grievous wounds is the silver bullet. She can control her jacks and still have a decent armor and heal up.
Weapons & stuff: 12 pow auto hitting. No need to boost and enough focus to take down high Armor casters. Anything 19 or more will need some help, if she can’t use Cataclysm. Can’t think of a situation at the moment. She’s got a Awe and Martyrdom which are both super good. -2 to att rolls in her control area and Martydom is after tough rolls, so its really nice. Gotta watch out because its CMD range.

Feat: super good.
Pow 14 on anything comes closer and in her control area. Ok, its fire damage but its damage! If it was pow 12 it would be effective on mainly light infantry, but this is good on anything. Its not going to take out Khador, Menoth and or heavy beasts, but it will make anything pay for not respecting her area. Some factions like Circle just hurt with this Feat. See lots of lists suffer. Any fragile lists will be hard pressed to win scenarios. Even Cryx is on lock down for a turn.
Spells
Shes got 5 spells. Purfication – sick spell which locks out buffing factions defenses and crippling effects. Lamentation? Crippling grasp? Iron Flesh.. Bye bye.. and all within her control area of 20”. Guided hands puts high def models in range. Fear of God reminds me of Rebuke. Crusader’s call gets her takes Slow menoth up a notch and gets her in position faster. Something similar to Rush. And the Nasty one, Cataclysm. Autohitting Pow 20 blast at point blank.Dont let Harby charge you. 3 Pow 20s to the face!
Synergy, she’s great with her Jacks. The Avatar saves her focus, Vanguisher and Reconker are her go to Jacks. Crusdaers call gives Jacks and Infantry a higher threat, 13 with the Temple flame guard. You know your going to have the Choir if you take jacks. The Errants aint bad either since we have access to Tough through ruppert. Healing and effect 1 focus from the Heirophant. And get more focus from the Wracks, Covenent and Vassals are just straight up Good. With martyrdom, some of these solos and units can be a problem for a very long time and can throw off berserk and other crazy abilities.

Harbinger has all the tools to control the follow of the game. Ya gotta come to her and she makes you pay for it. She isn’t a Free win. She has a lot going on. Gotta watch activation order and keep in mind all the tricks in play. But I’d say she is at the top of the list. She can put a lock down on most casters in the game and hold her ground against even other A level casters with a reasonable chance to hold anything off. Her weakness is her Base size and stats. She’s a clearly an A. Fun to play, a challenge to play with and unique in her style.

Im wondering if Lylyth2 would be a better Lock to take against her. Shadow pack, long range alpha strike. I currently playing Legion and Menoth. Saeryn has the tools to do it, but I think Lylyth does it better with less risk. However any middle control mission is going to be a challenge for Lylyth2.

It was not legal for me to split up my spell martyrs. I did not realize they were FA 1. Once again, my cheaters ways are uncovered!

Chain Attack  Fun fact #67: in episode 40 (Harbinger vs Saeryn “I’m Not Sure Who Should be Apologizing to Whom”) Jay calls out Ben for “netdecking” (meta gaming) against Saeryn, yet on episode 16 (epic Haley vs epic Deneghra “Two Bitches”) Jay claimsto have reworked his standard Denny list to specifically combat Haley. I’m not quite sure how often this happens.

Sometimes the host or guest claims to specifically NOT be metaing against their opponent (Trevor in episode 27 Mordikaar v Rahn “Your News Flash is that Epic Eiryss is Bullshit?”, Chris Ross in eKreoss v Sloan “Knife to a Terrain Fight”). Other times they specifically change their lists to combat opponents (episode 4 guest Mark in Constance v. Baldur “Scott’s clearly not a Cygnar guy”, Scott in pHaley v Calaban “Posse’s Gone Away”).

LOL! your commentary is awesome, you should totally keep it up. We will obviously have inconsistencies throughout and we would never be able to remember what the hell we said because half the time we just say whatever comes to our mouths.

There is certainly a high level of netdecking and counter-netdecking and anti-netdecking that goes on from show to show. Sometimes to a high level, if only I could tear down the 4th wall for you guys from time to time.
