    I have to admit that this week we were pretty hard on Mohsar and i have had some time to think about some of the things that were said.. and i think if we were to record the episode again i might defend him more voraciously than i did during the show. I hope we revisit him some time in the future.

    You were too hard on Mohsar. Honestly, and I mean no offense here, it sounds like a bad list backed with bad plans, loose play and poor rolls. I understand that the player seemed to want to theme it up, but most theme lists aren’t that good and this game did not deliver a performance deserving of being rated. IMO, Mohsar definitely deserves another try at some point in the future. I’m not sure anything will change, especially with the heavy bias everyone seems to have against him, but there were lots of mistakes and most of them seemed to reduce Mohsar’s preformance.

    Somethings to keep in mind for the future:
    His feat prevents warlock cutting themselves for for fury since that is a type of leaching. Also it prevents channeling rather than removing the Arc Node advantage. Usually the distinction isn’t important, but it does stop Dark Rituals.
    Sands of Fate should get a second look. People are too concerned about the well-being of their troops and they really shouldn’t be. IMO, Mohsar lives and dies by Sands of Fating into range to dropping a spell or two, shooting if possible, Sands of Fating out and then Maltreatmenting a fury for transfers.
    Imagine if Mohsar had been teleporting in blocking a beast or Rasheth with Pillars or ganking Taskmasters/Gators/Nodegiver Beast Handlers w/ his gun and/or Crevasse or Curse of Shadowing things before committing Shrimp or Stalker to killing them. Perhaps the game would have ended the same way, but it would have changed how effective Mohsar looked.
    Yes, the pillars are easy to destroy, but since ranged attacks need POW 14, an AOE, or cause fire or corrosion damage to damage them and they cannot be charged the attacks usually have to come from fairly quality models. Stalling out quality models in the back field is an excellent way to start Circle’s divide and conquer guerilla playstyle.

    Also, since this is a battle reports podcast I recommend posting the lists in the show notes or posting the time stamp for when each list is listed.

    Mohsar’s feat preventing cutting wouldnt have changed much for Rasheth, he plays as far back as Mohsar does.

    Lists are posted in the forum thread with images of the battle report. If people would prefer lists are placed in the show notes I can do that as well.

    If he had popped the feat that turn then the Bronzeback would have needed to be Conditioned instead of Enraged. The Bronzeback would have needed to pay for the trample as well as paying for the attack(s), not a big deal given how the dice rolled. Add in Rasheth being unable to channel onto the Bronzeback and it might have made a difference. Especially if the 8″ distance between the Bronzeback and Mohsar was correct since without the channeled Rush, since the Skone player forgot to use the Gladiator to rush, the Bronzeback would not have made it into melee w/ Mosar. This is all Monday Morning Quarterbacking at this point though and we can keep dropping “but ifs” all day without accomplishing anything.

    The Skorne player admitted he should have prepped more, and, given that your Circle players hate Mohsar, I’d bet he didn’t get much prep either. It almost seems that the players walked into the fight with preconceived notions about how bad their casters were and played at least as much to prove themselves right as to win.

      The bronzeback had 1 fury on him, i still would have enraged.. as it effectively is +2 str but a wash on the trample. If i hadnt been able to channel it would have fixed my mistake actually. I didnt forget to cast rush with the gladiator (who had no fury on him because the sentry stone stole it). I cast rush with rasheth before, because i forgot i was GOING to use the gladiator. I still could have moved the gladiator over and did it. After i had already cast rush i decided to do something else with the gladiator. The bronzeback would have made it either way.

      While its true I needed to prep more, i didnt come into the game with preconceived notions about rasheth. I think Rasheth is more legit than my co-hosts do. I have played him in the past, but playing him in the past doesnt stop me from making mistakes. Admittedly we had to harass both of our circle players to finally get one of them to play Mohsar. Thats why i already admitted that we probably judged him too harshly (I accidently used the admin account to post my first comment), but i really dont think his feat would have stopped the outcome of what happened. The tools were still there, the mistakes were made on the turn prior. Marc should have cast his first pillar before moving instead of after. Or sands of fated to the other side of the table.

      And totally in agreement that this is all Monday morning quarterbacking at this point.

    I think you guys were way too hard on mohsar. In my experience smart pillar placement can be extremely tough to deal with and can put a circle player on-top scenario wise. His spell list is ok; mirage is useful, curse of shadows has many uses, crevasse is nice infantry removal and can be easily channeled via woldwarden. His feat is poor vs warmachine but vs hordes can be extremely effective. Sure armies have access to fury removal (Skorne being among the best) but forcing you to remove it then not allowing your warlock access too it (as mentioned above) is strong and creates a turn in which you effectively ‘stall’. I know you guys admitted to not being circle experts and unaware of any synergies but it does exist, mainly through pillar placement and slams.
    I really like the concept of your podcast and big fan of the show. I just left feeling like mohsar had not been given a fair chance, especially in the chosen list.

      Fair comments, this was one episode where we didn’t have the best frame of reference. I think we will return to Mohsar at some point in the future but looking at our schedule I just don’t see it happening before next year. Thanks for listening!

    I need to play Moshar more. I think he has some potential but is tricky to play. I have some other lists going on in my head for him and would like to have a rematch to prove that he is at least a D rated model rather than a F.

    I like these podcasts but you guys dissing Mohsar makes you sound like complete noobs. That tier list is garbage and should never be played. Shoot, two units of druids isn’t even fun, it’s just dumb. His spell list is frikin sweet and the way you guys are down playing the usefulness of PoSalt just shows you haven’t played vs. them very often or using the correct rules (POW 14+ ranged attacks only). Sounds like you all need a pro Circle player in your area. No offense to the guy playing this list I’m sure he is a competitive player but wow that list is terrible.

      This has been hashed over repeatedly, we have discussed it here and on the forum thread for this episode. We do play the pillars correctly and we have played against him several times in the nearly 6 months since this episode was recorded. Multiple times in tournaments. While you need pow 14 ranged attacks, thats only if they dont have an aoe component or cause fire or corrosion. And all melee attacks work, 2d6+12 destroys them on average dice. I have never had an issue with killing them. We have a plan to revisit Mohsar soon (within the next 2-3 months), and while i agree we were too hard on him on this episode I highly doubt we are going to make a complete reversal. I guess you will have to wait and listen in :)
